Salvation

We believe salvation is for everyone through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  If you earnestly seek Him, you will be saved.  All you have to do is ask Jesus into your heart.

Hebrews 11:6 New International Version (NIV)

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Acts 3:19 New International Version (NIV)

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.

1st John. 1:8-9; 2:1

The Christian life is the examined life, the life that takes seriously the call to repentance and the promise of forgiveness.

An example of what we say:

"O Lord Jesus Christ,
We confess that we have sinned against you
in our thoughts, words, and deeds.
We have had anxieties about the future,
even though we proclaim you as Lord.
We have failed to love our neighbors,
and we have disobeyed your commands.
Have mercy upon us, Lord Jesus,
Forgive us our sins
and cleanse us of all unrighteousness
That we may walk in your ways
and serve you in grace and love.
This we ask in your holy Name
Amen."

Examples of something you can say:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior."

Or

God of my salvation, hear, and help me to believe:

Simply would I now draw near, thy blessings to receive.

Full of guilt, alas I am, but to thy wounds for refuge flee;

Friend of sinners, spotless lamb, thy blood was shed for me. . .
